auto format fractions

Some of the fractions I type change to a small font and some stay as is. I
know there is a place to change this but I cannot find it anymore and the
help menu pulls up everyting else but that problem.
I need to turn off the autoformatting.

That sounds like autocorrection to me. We can't tell you how to address it,
though, unless you tell us what version of Outlook and whether or not you're
using Word as the editor.
