Auto-fill text boxes

When I insert a new PowerPoint slide, it automatically pre-fills the new
slide with a box for the slide title and for text. Since I don't always add
text or titles, I have to delete both boxes before I can proceed with my work.

Is there a way to adjust the PowerPoint settings to stop this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Mark,

If you choose the "blank" slide layout (format > slide layout), then the
boxes are removed.

However.... if you learn about something called the "slide master" you may
find they save you a lot of time.

Hi TAJ,

Thanks a lot for taking the time to reply. What a great resource this is.

I'm using the Slide Master function currently. And you're right, it's a
huge help/big timesaver. But even when I'm using the 'Master, and I use the
"Insert A New Slide" command, it still (by default I suppose?) throws in a
box for a slide title and another for main text.

Anyway to turn that "feature" off?

Thanks again for your help!

That's powerpoint trying to be helpful (like capitalizing the first letter
of a sentance)... most of the time it's helpful... but damm annoying when
you don't want it!

The quickest way to get a blank (no layout) NEW slide... is to make one
blank (layout) slide... then ... Insert menu > duplicate slide (before you
enter any text boxes)
