Is there a way to have all contact lists dumped in so I will be prompted with
names as I start to type in the TO: box? It only seems to display names that
have been typed before -- like it is learning the names? We are running on
Exchange and Outlook 2003.

No. The name cache has no connection to the Contacts folder. Additionally,
it will only hold up to 1,000 entries.

Correct. There is a third-party commercial tool called Owtlook
(http://www.dcs-imaging.com/products.htm) that can edit the list.

I hate to refute Brian's response, but he's partially correct and partially
incorrect. He's correct that the NK2 file can hold up to 1,000 names,
usually more than most require. He's incorrect about the fact that you
cannot "dumpt names into the NK2, autocomplete" file.

Go to http://www.dcs-imaging.com/autocompletetips.htm and review that
document. If you already have your contacts, there's nothing to purchase.
We make a utility to assist in getting contact info. OUT OF the autocomplete
file, but you'll find the tips doc. mentioned above helpful for populating
the NK2 file. It's especially nice for people who have new installations of
Outlook!

One has to wade though a lot of text in that document in order to find the
information. For those who want to find it quickly, it's in the section
titled "Building a new NK2 file from data recovered using our Owtlook
program". The method is outlined in paragraphs 9-13.

However, the section's title explicitly states that one needs your Owtlook
program in order to perform anything in paragraphs 1-13. I think you've got
a problem with your document's construction or you should add a paragraph
that says that you can also perform steps 9-13 without your program if you
want to populate an NK2 file from an existing Contacts folder.
