Hi All -

I have a problem perhaps someone out there can help me with.

I am running Exchange 2003 with Outlook XP and 2003 clients. We have very
limited drive space and have had to impose mailbox limits. My of our
accounts are teachers that are gone for most of the summer.

I would like to have them use the Out of Office Assistant to let them notify
others that they will be "out" for the summer, forward their messages to
their Internet mail accounts (hotmail, msn, yahoo, etc.) and delete the
message from their inbox.

This works fine except the messages pile up in the Deleted Folder.

Is there a way to use the Out of Office Assistant to delete the messages
automatically out of the Deleted Folder?

TIA

Mike

What about letting them use OWA? Then, no Out of Office or forwarding rules
is necessary, no?

Or use alternate delivery/delivery options on the server and forward all
mail to mail-enabled contacts for their external accounts (w/o keeping a
copy in the inbox of the mailbox)? You'd have to create the contacts for
each external address, note....and if the 'forwardee' mailbox runs out of
space, that server will likely spit out an NDR back to the original sender,
who may be confused as to why Hotmail is replying when they didn't know they
were sending to Hotmail in the first place.
Again, I'd probably vote with going w/OWA access if possible.
