I type in 01-08-1 ( a reference number) and it auto-corrects to 1/8/2001. I turned off all autocorrection (that I could find) but mostly that was dealing with capitalization and spelling mistakes. What do I do abiut this? I'm being pushed around by souless devil software. Bugack!

2 possibilities of many.....

1) Precede the entry with a ' . ie Enter '01-08-1
2) Format the cell(s) to text before entering any data. Then you can enter
01-08-1 as normal.

Hi
Excel converts your entry to an date. Some workarounds
one way: preced you entry with an apostrophe: '01-08-1
another way: Preformat this cell as 'Text'
