Hi everyone-

I have a home network; two XP Pro machines and a 2003 server acting as
print server and backup.

Whenever one of the XP boxes reboots, no connection can be made to the
W2K3 machine without entering a username and a password.
Is there any way around this?
I'd like the shared folders and the printers on the W2K3 machine to be
available seamlessly.

Thanks.

Create a local account on the sever with the same credentials you use on the
workstations.

Nope.

Created an account on the W2K3 box with the exact same username and
password as the XP box.

Mapped a share on the W2K3 to the XP machine.
Without fail, everytime the XP machine reboots, no access to the W2K3
machine is available. When attempting to print to the shared printer, I
get an error; when trying to access the shared W2K3 folder, I'm
prompted for a username and password.

Once the proper UN & PW is entered, all is fine, until the XP machine
is rebooted, then no access.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, this is correct. Post the text of any error messages you receive. Check
Event Viewer for errors.
