It should store all the addresses of people you've replied to forever unless
the .NK2 file is deleted.

does it simply move less used names down the list? I thought it removed them
at some point

What do you do when you start typing the name of a distribution list and hit
enter to auto-complete, but you get an earlier version of the distribution
list that doesn't reflect recent additions and changes? Is there a way to
make auto-complete get a current version of the distribution list in contacts
without using the 'Select Names' window?

Thank you!

I think there is a space limit (I believe I read that somewhere), with older
names getting pushed off the list when newer ones are added, but I don't
know that limit and don't know whether the criterion is first in-first out
or least-recently-used.

Should it be saving any names typed into the To section? Where do you think I
could look to find out about the space limit and criteria?

Thanks

Yes, that's autocompletion's purpose.

I just looked at Microsoft's Knowledgebase and found this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=292928 . It says the cache size is 1,000
names and that when it's full, displaying of the cache names slows down. It
doesn't mention whether or not older names get removed automatically or not,
but since the article advises deleting names implying nothing gets
automatically removed. I'd say that once the cache is full, no more names
get added and you have to delete some or clear the cache altogether in order
to get rid of names and add more names.

YOU'RE THE BEST! THANKS!

I am not certain that we can help, but we have done extensive work with the
autocomplete file. If you wish, contact me at sales at our website of
www.dcs-imaging.com and I'll try to assist. We also have a ph. no. there,
feel free to call.
