Auto Complete

I have excell 2000 and have 300 names in one column and would like for excell
to auto complete on another column but it wont. When I went to HELP, all I
canfigure out is it says its out of my data region but I don't know how to
change that.

auto complete looks at data in the same column above the activecell so
autocomple will not work in another column.

Would a custom list be of any use to you, just a thought.
