Posted this just before Xmas, no replies, would appreciate any
feedback...

OL2003 on XP Pro SP2.
I have created AutoArchive settings on folders, set it to use the
settings for all folders, and tested. All works fine.

*But: If you create a new subfolder under "Inbox", the Autoarchive
settings are not propagated. Is this by design, and is there any way to
do this differently? i.e. when a new subfolder is created, it should
take the AA settings of the top-level folder??

Tx!

Eugene

It is by design -- I know of no way to make the settings automatically
propagate. I'm not sure I would want all my subfolders to have the same
settings as my Inbox, and Microsoft probably felt most people would also
prefer to choose the settings for each folder separately.

Jocelyn,

Thanks for your reply!

Yes, I agree that most people would like to choose settings seperately.
However, in a corporate environment, where I would like to be able to
set these up by default (and don't have the funds for one of those
expensive Exchange Archiving solutions!) it is most definetely a
feature well worth having...

Regards,

Eugene

Feel free to pass along your concerns and suggestions to Microsoft at
(e-mail address removed) (put Outlook in the subject line) or at
(e-mail address removed) (for Outlook-specific issues). Microsoft does read
the e-mails sent to these addresses, and the more users requesting a certain
feature, the more likely it will be implemented in the future.
