Authentication after upgrade

Can any Microsoft Wiz tell me if changing the CPU to a faster one will
tip the authentication procedure over the edge with the following desktop
machine? It is not dockable, has no CPU serial number, and no SCSI
installed.

Unchanged:
Processor Model
IDE controller
Hardrive
CD-ROM Drive
Volume Serial Number

Changed:
RAM size
Graphics Adaptor
MAC Address

If I come up against problems how much grief am I likely to get getting a
new number from MS? Bearing in mind that the copy of XP HOME is an OEM
one. I've heard they have some discretion on this, I am only trying to
upgrade a slightly ageing machine after all. I just have a feeling I'm on
the edge here!

Thanks for any input ... Barry

PS the details of the machine were obtained from the XPinfo programme,
it's very handy!

1) If you need to change the motherboard, you will need to re-activate

2) If you active Intel Hyper-Theading features, you may have to.

3) If you just replace the processor, you may have to.

If you do either #2 or #3, your Windows XP activation may have to be re-done
since Windows activation could count down past the allows hardware changes.

Depends on what other hardware changes have been made. It will
constitute one of the categories taken into consideration (see
www.aumha.org/win5/a/wpa.htm)

There is a tool XPInfo at http://www.licenturion.com
which will tell you which hardware categories are currently saying OK
