headset jack? And no there are no other settings on my drag down list to use
on the control panel/speech. Help !!!! he's 4 and driving me crazy. thanx

Its under control panel/sounds&audio devices
under volume click advanced
uncheck the mute and adjust the volumes on the required line

I think that would depend on your specific sound system and its drivers.
Sometimes you can connect the headphones to one of the speaker to redirect
the sound to the headset. If the speakers don't allow you to connect
headphones to them, you may have to unplug the speakers and connect the
headset in the same plug. I had the same problem until I found a pair of
cheep speakers that allow a headphone connection to silence them.

Getting the sound to come out of the headset jack may require you to dig
deeper in the audio configuration of your drivers. You may be able to get
more specifuc directions here if you knew the vender of your sound system. I
personally wouldn't fight it and just replace the speakers with headphones
if it's accessible.

Thank You soooo much.
