Audio Problems with Movie Maker

I have imported .avi video files into movie maker that play perfectly from the Collection window. As soon as I drag them to the Story Board and play the entire timeline the audio of each of those clips becomes compressed into the first few seconds of that clip so that any speaking or sounds are completely incomprehensible. The video remains normal when played from the storyboard

Any suggestions on how to fix this??

Jeff,

See my posts above addressed to Digger.

This is a mess that only Microsoft can sort out. There is almost certainly a
flaw in Storyboard that prevents proper rendering of audio from .avi/pcm
files.

The only solution is to download and pay for an MPEG encoder.

You are not alone.
