Audio not transferring from analog camcorder

I have an 8MM analog camcorder with composite video/audio out.
I have the Dazzle 80 USB analog converter.

I can transfer both video and audio when I use the Dazzle software, which
makes AVIs, which are very large.
However, only video -- no audio -- will transfer using MovieMaker 2. Same
physical configuration.

I even found the setting where you select an audio source and I set it to my
Dazzle 80 device.

And yes, I know you won't hear to audio while the video is transferring.
When I go to Media Player and play the MM2-created files, there's just plain
and simple no audio.

Any ideas?

Found a fix:

Just FYI in case anyone else has the same problem. Here is the fix:

1) Disconect the Dazzle audio inputs from the camcorder audio outputs.
2) Go from the Camcorder audio output directly to the PCs audio card "Line
In" input.
3) On the MM2 audio clip wizard, set the Audio Device to your sound cards
"Line In".

It will now capture video. I recommend this method to anyone having trouble
getting MM2 to capture the audio from older camcorders. It's not that
there's a problem with MM2, but rather that the older camcorders (you know,
way back in ancient history - the 1990s) are just plain wacky.
