I'm single grandfather and my granddaughtor gets these crimainal offense
lettes from the school thats she's been missig class 's . She tells me that
she go to all sher class's. and I say if you go to all your class's why
wourd I be gettings all these letters from the school. I need some one to
help me write a letter to the school saying something that will keep me from
paying $100.00 per month to her mother to take
her my hands, she is not my child, she is my grandchild. She is a
student at ALIEF I .S D.. I need help.

We can help you format your letter, but we can't help you write it. I
suggest you go to www.allexperts.com and ask one of the legal experts there.

As you know from Suzanne's response, this is not really the place
to get the help you are seeking. But I'm going to make a
suggestion of sorts. It's not clear--at least to me--what the
relation is with you and the mother and the child, or how you're
involved, or what the $100/month is about. Please don't write back
to explain, because this group is about software, not education and
parenting. My point is that--because I don't know those things--
this might not be the right advice, but it is something for you to
think about: In addition to getting whatever legal help you or the
child might need, you might consider speaking to the school
counseling staff. Get a feel for what's going on, for what they
see, for what the "diversion" options are (which means, if she's
heading toward trouble, how to keep it as less troublesome as
possible). You risk irritating the child and the mother by getting
further involved, so, if you're already not that involved, think
hard about it. But, if you are already in it, may as well talk to
the school people, either with or without the child.

Good luck.
