attachs went from it own line to in body of text & received dat

Within the last couple weeks, when composing an email with attachements I
would click to make an attachment and MS would place it in the body of the
email, rather than on the attachment line. Moreover it would be received as a
dat file rather than a xls file, Help I want it to go back to the prior
method. I changed nothing I believe it was thru an outlook,office update
 
Don't send mail in Rich Text Format. Try Plain Text or HTML format instead.
It should eliminate both issues.
 
Thanks, it fixed the problem. My IT guy worked on the system and somehow it
got changed to rich text, thanks again
