ever since downloading windows xp service pack 2, i cannot send attachments
from outlook 2003. i can still send regular emails, as long as they don't
have attachments. i have changed the settings to plain text and turned off
word as the email editor, and still no luck. how can i get it to where i can
send photos, videos, etc. again?

i forgot to mention that all firewalls are off as well as virus scan programs
that could be interfering. now, with that said, any ideas on how i can send
attachments in outlook 2003 again?

What happens when you try to send one? Can you add an attachment? Do you get
any errors when adding or sending? If so, what are they?

I can add attachments to the email, but the email will not send. only my
emails with no attachments will send. those with attachments, try to send but
the send always fails. i always get an error message. the messages are
usually error (0x800ccc0f) and occasionally others. my ports 25 and 110 are
open, all firewalls are off, etc. i just cannot send emails that have
attachments.

Do you have a Norton antivirus/internet security application installed that
can protect e-mail? If yes, try uninstalling/reinstalling w/out e-mail
integration since something is causing the connection to be dropped.

ps - Norton/Symantec put out a bad update on December 6th that could cause
this.

It might be that your "Server Timeout" is set to short. That is the time
Outlook is allowed to send an email. You can udjust this setting under
Options/Accounts. I have mine set on 7 minutes.
