I have been living with an issue on Outlook for a while now and hoping you
can fix it. Whenever I receive an email with an attachment, I have to open it
in the preview window or save it to my hard drive and open it. If I try to
open it while it is in my Inbox, sent folder or my *.pst file I receive the
attached error. This is with Word, Excel, jpg., ppt and project files. The
file applications are all loaded on my computer so I don’t know the issue.

Thank you, Kathy

What attached error? Does it still happen after you clear the Temporary
Internet Files?

Tips of the month:
-Properly back-up and restore your Outlook data
-Creating a Permanent New Mail Desktop Alert in Outlook 2003

Yes, it does still happen after clearing the internet temp files. Here is the
message:
"The server application, source file, or item cannot be found. Make sure the
application is properly installed, and that it has not been deleted, moved or
renamed".
Thank you for your help!

Hi Kathy,

Check if your Outlook Secure Temp Folder has been emptied as well. You can
find the location of this folder by going to;
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security

Cut & paste the address in the address bar of Explorer to access it. You
cannot browse to it through the folders.
