Attachment missing

Hope this newsgroup handles Express as well. When I
receive an email, the attachment is missing. The sender
is using Outlook 2000 and I am using Outlook Express
6.0. We both have XP. As a test, the sender sent from
the ISP webmail site, and I got the attachment. So
something must be wrong with one of our setups. Is this
the sender's problem or mine? Thanks in advance!
 
Hi Krisinky -- actually, there are separate groups for Outlook Express,
since it's not related to Outlook at all despite the unfortunately similar
name. But I think I can help you with this particular question. Ask the
Outlook 2000 user to make sure he/she sends to you in either Plain Text
format or HTML format. Outlook has a proprietary third format called Rich
Text which other e-mail programs can't handle, so if the message you were
sent was in Rich Text format, that explains why the message did not come
through properly on your end. If it works when the sender uses HTML or
Plain Text, you can consider the issue resolved :-)

Thanks for the reply. Yes, this turned out to be our
problem. Glad you knew this since I never found an
Outlook Express group to ask.
