Attachment in the body of email

When I try to attach a file it is being inserted in the body of my email, how
can I change it so it merely is attached as a normal file not in the body of
the email?

Don't send in Rich Text.
 
I ran repair office from the add/remove programs in the
control panel. The option to send as attachment was
restored.
