attachment error

whenever I forward an attachment, efore sending it off if i edit the
attachment I get a message saying that the attachment is open by another
program and changes will be lost unless I save the attachment in a different
program.

Has anybody seen this? I'm using outlook 2003

That other program is Outlook. When you open an attachment, you're opening
it to a temporary folder. When you save the changes, you save them to the
temporary copy. Forwarding the message after this, though, forwards the
original attachment, which doesn't contain your changes.

If you want to modify an attachment, save it to a non-temporary folder on
your hard drive, make the mods you want, and then create a new message,
adding your changed document.
