attaching forms to documents

I've inherited a project where I create/amend forms and
policies around these forms using the Word program. The
forms are in their own file but they are duplicated as an
attachment in a policy file that has its own header and
footer, different margins and page setup. I'd like to
insert some sort of a link where if I amend a form in one
file, the changes will automaticlly happen in the copy of
it in the policy file. Does anyone know if this is
possible?

I think you want an INCLUDETEXT field. However, also look into AutoText and
AutoText fields. With AutoText, your forms would be AT entries in one or
more templates, displayed using AT fields in your policy files.

In either case, you would need a macro to update the fields when your policy
documents are opened. Can you have macros that will run in your
templates/documents?
