Provided the control (field) with which you want to associate the inserted
label does not already have a label attached:
Select the inserted label.
Delete the inserted label.
Select the control with which you want to associate the label.
Paste the deleted label.
It will now be associated with the selected control.
Minor modification to the instructions:
==Select the inserted label.
==CUT (not delete) the inserted label.
==Select the control with which you want to associate the label.
==Paste the CUT label.
It will now be associated with the selected control.
In Access 2003 (and later) while in design view, you may have a small red
triangle on the label. If so, click on the label and then click on the button
(yellow exclamation) that appears. One of the options is to Associate the
Label with a Control...
Select that and then follow the instructions.
