I tried the get it from the manufacturer, It is like a nightmare
trying to figure out what they are trying to tell you to do, and then
they don't have all the drivers together. LIke this works for this
but for that you need to download this, then you can't find it. I
thought that maybe they had sent a good one to windows update.
I did the latest drivers from ATI, that I could find, still had the
same problem, worse, I can't find my original install disk???
Thanks for the advise
Ken

See whether you can revert/roll back to the previous driver, in the
properties of the
card in the Windows Device Manager. Or try a system restore.

Note also that this isn't really the best group for this question as it's
meant for Windows software update services, not WU. Try
microsoft.public.windowsupdate, or better still,
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general as this isn't a problem with Windows
Update per se (just a problem with what you downloaded & installed from it.

Hello Ken
I posted a Q in a couple of groups today, to get feedback on where to get
drivers etc.
Re Ati - have you registered with them. They are a very good helpful lot.
When I had 9800Pro I always did a 'ticket' to them and they would give me
the exact driver with a full and clearly written procedures for
installation.
One of the things that was a must, was I think an update of the
..net(something like that) and of course the Core Centre.
Every time I did all three in the course of update.
God I miss Core Centre - got an nVidia at the mo - it has Probe - a load of
SH one T. Continuous warnings at start-up and if you open during computer
use. Temps jump all over the place - asked them for help and they came up
with a bright solution. Set the thresholds to a figure above the ones that
give a warning???????????????????until I get no more warnings.
Rgds
