ati graphics card problem

hi, i have been doing some work on my friends laptop it is fairly a
old laptop but it still works,
any way i have recentlly reformmated and rinstalled xp everything
works fine exept the ghrapics card a ati mobility radeon m16 hasent
got got any drivers i have been looking everywhere on the internet
for
drivers but i still cant find any thing and this ismy last hope, the
laptop is a advent 7004, any help would be great

Since finding that driver from Advent would be difficult I'd just pop on over
and get it from AMD who bought out ATI. Here's the link to get the correct
ATI Mobility driver:

http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

Starting from the left hand box, you'll need to enter(L-click) the required
info in each scroll barred box: first-operating system, then Mobility
Radeon, then model (1600?). Good luck.

Your last hope apparently was overlooked in your search.

Try the ATI site.

Driver CD

The notebook is supplied with a Utility CD. This can be used to restore
corrupt drivers.

a.. Ensure Windows XP is running. Insert the CD into the drive.
b.. The CD will autorun and display a menu with the following options:
a.. Device Driver
b.. Readme
c.. Release Notes
d.. Browse CD
e.. Exit
c.. Click "Device Driver" to begin. The message "The drivers for your
system will now be installed. Do you wish to continue?" Click YES.
d.. The program will now install files and restart Windows.
e.. When Windows restarts the individual drivers are loaded
automatically. You may receive an error message for each driver as they
are not digitally signed. Click "Continue Anyway" to carry on.
f.. Once the drivers are installed Windows will restart one last time.
** If you have trouble getting the official drivers working it may be
worth trying the ATI Omega drivers from
http://www.omegadrivers.net/ati.php. These are independently produced
drivers which have been tweaked to improve performance.
 
thanks for the responce,

my friend says that he has no idea where the driver disk is,
but i will try the driver that notsure posted, when my friend comes
over with his laptop, (he took it home)
