Athlon 64 and XP SP2

In short, edit boot.ini. For the partition you are booting, you'll
probably see /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn. Change OptIn to AlwaysOff.
This worked for me.
 
I run Athlon 64 system and SP2 causes the machine to
restart continuously. According to the links below running
Athlon 64 is the reason.

One of the resolutions mentioned below is Mpegport.sys
path entered in the advanced options for DEP. I don't have
such file in my system.

What is the resolution?

I've already removed SP2 and worked fine.
I am thinking to edit boot.ini before installing SP2.
Then after installing SP2 would expect to have no problem.
