my computer is on a network where I am the remote computer. I do not want
this. I have spent money to clean my hardrive. Still I am accessed by someone
who at one time set up my computer and had full access to it. when I go to
scheduled tasks and hit the advanced menu, the AT service accounts is not
high lighted and I cannot click it to change. Someone help. How can I
determine what I think. that my computer is the remote to a server and I
cant stop access to it . I am new to this . this is my first computer.

If you are describing remote access, do the following:

winkey+pause/break > Remote Tab > remove the checks from both boxes.
Also open the Select Remote Users... button and remove any users

i have no idea how to do what you are telling me to do. plus i guess it seems that i am the remote comp. to aserver. not by my choice. how can i just turn on my computer and not have it be on a network that ties me into this other persons computer. for example. tonight i got rid of all printer sharing etc. later she called me and told me she cant get her printer to work. i trapped her. does this not prove that what ever i do on my computer she knows because i am the remote to her computer. help please . I just want to get off the network or whatever domain i am in that shares everything i do with her

Roberto. the other thing is she set my computer so that it seems that i cant make changes. even it i log in as administrators. somehow i found in properties under something that showed . administrator. administrators. and an unknown account . the last two of these i am unable to deny special permissions. keep in mind she set my computer up; i believe i am tied into her computer and she has total access and permissions on my computer. i bought webroot spy sweeper that has found cookies. but because my computer is set a certain way, her access to it must appear ladgit to spysweeper

Probably the best advice I can give you since you don't understand
my instructions is take your machine to a reputable PC technician,
get him/her to "free" you of your encumberance.

good luck

i allready did that and spent a lot of money. it did not work. Roberto, is there a way to just be on my own network or is there a way to get my computer off of thenetwork that connects to her computer. thanks for responding

Find another professional computer repair person then. Ask for
recommendations from friends, colleagues.

Or do a clean install of Windows. Reinstall drivers and programs from
installation media and restore data from backups. Do not connect the
new installation to the Internet until you have Service Pack 2 (with
the Windows Firewall active) and a current version antivirus installed.

If he couldn't understand the simple directions to turn off remote
assistance, do you think he will understand the concept of a clean install?
