I can no longer associate programs/icons.
I have one program I can not associate it's files nor icon to. The "Open
With" window will not add the program to it's programs list. Therefore
clicking the program's files will not open them in the program, nor can I
give the files their icon.

Also, all .html files can not be given the IE icon, however, they will open
in IE.

Does anyone here know how to repair Association?
:)

Hiya,

You didn't mention how far into the "Open With" function. Did you
continue on to "Open With -> Choose Program..." option where you can
Browse... to the application you want? If you haven't, try this and let
us know.

Sorry if that is too obvious but you never know :-)

Good luck!

For Question #1: If this happens to one particular application, then look at
the utility in the following site:

Registering a program with the "Open With" dialog:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/openwithadd.htm

For Question #2: Visit the following page for the fix:

Incorrect or generic Windows icon displayed for HTM and HTML files:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/htmicon.htm

I had to use the "htmiconfix.vbs" to fix the .htm icon problem.

Question about the "openwithadd" -- does it fix the problem or do I have to
use it from now on?

Thank You :)

You use the OpenWithAdd utility only once to add an application to the Open
With dialog box (via the registry) automatically.
