Assign macro in command button sub-menu

The instructions in Excel XP say to drop a command button
in the spreadsheet, right click on it, and select the
assign macro option in the sub-menu in order to assign a
macro to the button.

When we right click on the command button and bring up the
sub-menu, there is no assign macro option in the sub-
menu. (None of the computers set up by our IS group has
the assign macro option in the sub-menu.)

Does anyone know:

1) How do I get the assign macro option to appear in the
sub-menu?

2) What caused the option to not appear in the sub-menu
(glitch in software, problem in installation, security
switch, etc.)?

Thanks,

..

Thank you for you assistance.

PLEASE NOTE:

For some reason since I entered my e-mail address in your
system I have received 10 notices of errors or bugs in
delivery from Administrator [[email protected]],
Inet email system, MS Inet mail storage system,
(e-mail address removed), Microsoft Service
[[email protected]], Net Mail Service
[[email protected]], etc. Please verify your
security. There were no attachments and no message text
in the emails, just the subject line indicating errors or
bugs.

I do not know if your system has been compromised or you
just have an error in your mail system.

Thank you.

This is not a "mail system". It's a newsgroup. The swen worm
harvests email addresses from the newsgroups and sends itself and
other messages to them.

Not a lot you can do other than use a fake address, or have a good
filter.
