I would like to make an automated system recovery disk (ASR) in XP Professional. When I tried to do this it tried to do a complete backup to a tape which I dont have. I just want to make aan ASR disk on a floppy or cd in order to backup the registry and any other important bits. i think this is what we used to call a boot disk
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thank
Colin.

you don't need one, the xp cd has everything you need.

You really do not understand what the ASR recovery is all about.

When you create one, the backup program copies everything on your windows
partition to another location (hard drive/partition) of your choice. It then
creates the ASR recovery floppy, to be used during restoration. This floppy,
among other things, points to where the backup has been stored and allows
you to recreate your system (in total), as it was when the backup was
performed.

It is something similar to Drive Image or Ghost, but "much" slower!
