ASP.NET Machine user account mysteriously appeared on my XP Machine? Why?

Any ideas??

After rebooting my machine due to a crash, I new ASP.NET Machine user
account appeared mysteriously.. I was opening a webpage link to the Guardian
Newspaper at the time of the crash.. Any ideas?

It didn't just mysteriously appear. The account was created when you
installed the .NET framework update from Windows Updates. If you're sure
that you're never going to run any .NET programs, it's safe to delete the
account if you want, but it's perfectly harmless, so I'd say leave it. After
all, who knows what future program/update might require it.
