ASP.NET 2.0 question

I'm learning ASP.NET and recently get to the database stuff.
I read this page:

I haven't practiced yet but my understanding is you have independant
provider for
Membership
Profile.

but that's really annoying! I want my profile to be associated with a
particular user (accoding to its login), did I miss something?

I thought profiles where associated with a particular user via the UserName
property in both the Membership.GetUser().Username and Profile.UserName
