Hi,

I have Windows XP. When I arrange by name, it arranges the numbers 1. 10,
11, 2.

Does anyone know how I can fix that?

It's alphabetizing. THe only real solution is to pad the numbers with
leading 0's, IE 001, 022, 122 etc.

Yes Sean I'm glad you asked, go download for yourself TweakUI powertoy for
Windows XP, then install it appropriately. Look for the Explorer node and
scroll down the check box control and select, "Use intuitive filename
sorting" and click the apply button. Also just to make sure for yourself,
name as such;

01. River Runs Deep.mp3
02. Tombstone Blues.mp3
....
29. Call a Doctor.mp3

Fix what? That's the way I'd expect a computer program to sort numbers.

It should sort them properly unless there is something else affectin
the sort. Do you have any characters besides numbers preceding th
numbers? Have you instructed Explorer to Auto Arrange

Stev

When using numbers less than 10, precede the number with zero as in 01, 02,
03, etc. Now your items will arrange themselves numerically.
