Is there a way to prevent Outlook 2003 from automatically entering the local
area code when entering a phone number?

The modem & dialing dialog won't allow an empty area code box, and I assume
that's where Outlook gets the data.

Thanks,
Craig.

No. Masking of phone numbers has always been hard coded. Why would you need
to?

My outlook automatically changes the area code to an area code that I don't
live in. How can I get it to automatically use the area code of my city?

Diane, thanks so much for the fix. I am not a very experienced computer user
& have been trying to fix the problem for hours.
