Hi,
In the last couple of days, several people here have reported that a message
appeared on their screen that had something to do with Remote Procedure Call
(RPC), and then their computer restarted. That happened to me as well.
Yesterday, my antivirus software detected a "Worm" in my system
(W32.Spybot.worm). I don't know what a worm is or does, by the way. The
antivirus software isolated the infected files on my conputer. However, what
happens now? My computer is working fine, and I've backed up my personal
files, BUT...is my system safe from other worms, viruses, or hackers? One of
the infected files is msconfig32.exe. The infected files cannot be repaired
by the antivirus software. If I delete those infected files (about 6 files
in total), what will be the effect of that on my system? Please advise.
Thank you.
