Are Cobra cables too long?

The IDE specification says that the maximum length of an IDE cable is only
18". Antec's Cobra cables are 24" and 36" long. Can I use them without any
problems? It would be cool to use those 36" cables in Max-towers, but I will
not buy them if they do not work properly. See

How about S-ATA and SCSI-cables? How long can they be?

I am using 36" round cables on ATA 100 drives on two computers. They work
just fine.

Antec has a pretty good reputation for quality/reliability. My first
reaction is to trust them to do it right. If I still had a question [for me
yours is a good one], I'd email their tech support.
