I am using outlook 2003 with an exchange server and am wondering if it is
possible to auto archive my inbox and all sub folders of which i have a lot,
my concern is that when i choose to setup auto archive on my inbox i do not
see an option to apply to all sub folders. I do not want to setup auto
archive for all the folders in my inbox separatly as this would create
hundreds of archive.pst files and take an eternity can i not do whole inbox
and all sub folders in one action.

Any help with this one greatly appreciated

Thanks.

Each folder gets its own auto-archive properties and doesn't inherit the
properties of its 'parent'. You can set the default, though, here: Tools
menu > Options > Other > AutoArchive

Yes i know you can set the properties of the default but that does not help,
so are we saying i can not archive more than one folder at a time.

You can archive more than one folder but you've got to set their properties
individually or take the defaults.

The original question stated i do not want hundreds of .pst archive files,
so can i archive my inbox and the hundreds of child folders in the same
archive .pst file it looks like no to me unless you tell me otherwise.

Just make sure the AutoArchiving properties for the folder either point to
the same PST file or choose the default PST

Vince thats great but is there no way to set scheduled archiving on parent
folder and all hundred sub folders with one action rather than a hundred and
one, if so how.
Thanks for your help thus far.

Hmmm, I seem to remember there's a utility for that. Let me see what I find.
In the meantime you can also check out Slipstick.COM's site to see if the
addin is listed there.
