Can someone refer me to a discussion of how to set up
archiving of inactive data in an application with lots of
linked tables?

Thanks

Ken

With an MDB it's pretty easy. What I do is compact and make a copy of the
data file, adding a date to the filename. I then burn a CD as a backup. I
usually have a date field that I can archive from so I just run queries that
dump data before a certain date. Then I compact and I have my new, leaner
file.

Why? Won't make your app much faster.
