have a machine running XP Home. Any application installed
after about 3 months ago will not start. Programs
installed prior to this start without problems. I removed
many spyware items & components including CommonName and
NewDotNet. This is consistant. I can double click or run
from a menu; I get a very brief hourglass, then nothing.
Nothing ever appears in the task manager list in the
processes window. Any thoughts??

The only thing I come up with is to uninstall and

reinstall the effected apps.
