Hi

I have two uses that use my laptop. The one user installed
an application on her profile which is fine, but now this
application starts up automatically under my profile as
well and puts itself in my taskbar. How do i get rid of
it? It is not in the startup folder so it must be
something else...
any ideas?

If it is not in the start folder then it is most being launched from one of
the run keys in the registry. Run regedit and take a look at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and see if
the app is listed there in the right pane. You can have user one move the
value from there to his/her run key in the user portion of the registry.
This will need to be done when user one is logged on since it will require
that user one's user portion of the registry be loaded. Create the same
value in user one's registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft
\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Then delete the value from its Run key under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
