application not found

For the past week I haven't been able to download various email attachments
or listen to music clips. The download to my temporary files starts and then
"application not found" error pops up on screen. How do I correct this.

The easiest way is probably to re-install your music
installation. What is it, anyway?
 
possible a new software installed could be causing this.
try system restore that should solve all the issue.
 
I go to a site to preview music and it downloads but I get the error or;
I open an email attachment it downloads and I get this error.
It does not happen with all email attachments though and I only tried once
w/music download prior to asking this question.
 
To prevent respondents from having to guess the nature
of your problem, you have to supply specific details instead
of vague general problem descriptions:
a) What is the name of your music program?
b) Which file type are you unable to play? .wav? .mp3? other?
c) Which file types can you play?
d) Does the problem exist from within EMail only, or also from
Explorer / My Computer?
f) Which Email program do you use? What version?
 
I was looking for a song on the net (exploerer) and found a site that would
allow me to listen to a clip from the song. I clicked on the site, clicked
on the sample and it began to download. However after downloading an error
msg appeared "application not found" It's like it downloaded it but it could
not be found in my temporary files to play. I use MP10 and never had a
problem before with any type of music.

The same msg appeared when I tried opening an attachment in email. I use
Incredimail (imports my msgs from cox.net and hotmail)

I believe (?) it has to do with my temporary file. I empty my temporary
files and folders including off line content on a regular basis, could I have
screwed someting up?
