I have 512 megs of RAM. Whenever I have Photoshop,
Illustrator open, recently I get an error message when I
try to open Pagemaker. It tries to open and then shuts
down the program. If I close one of the other programs, I
can open Pagemaker. Is there some setting that I can
change to allow me to have all three running? I am in
Windows 2000.

I assume the err.msg refers to memory.
Graphics apps are memory intensive.
Check yr sys Swap File (VM) settings
eg The swap file is located by default on C:, if C: has to little space and
you have a second disk with more free space move it to 2nd disk. Its
generally best to allow win to manage the swap file size.
This could also be caused by low disk space, ensure tmp files etc are
deleted.
Also you may have numerous other apps loading on start up, are these all
neccesssary?
