Application Error

I just recently instlled Autcad R14 after I closer this program I get the
following: acad.exe - Application Error
The instructon at "0x008b3b9e" referenced memory at "0x03700338". The
memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.

Why is this happening?

Hello

c:\program files\AutoCAD r14 directory and in there you will see the
acad.exe icon. Right click on the icon and choose PROPERTIES. You will see
five tabs, choose the one with compatibility, under compatibility mode place
a check mark for the option run program in compatibility modefor:. Under
that you will see a drop down box, please choose the Windows 98/ Windows Me
option. Then click OK Button, I hope this will help you or someone who had
the same problem as I did...good luck...as all ways have a great day....

I tried that with no luck.. I have been told that perhaps my memory is bad?
How do I check that?
