Appending Data CD

I can't find an option to append a data CD. There used to be an option in
Windows 95, but I don't see one now. I'd like to copy pics for ID's of
personal property, and then be able to copy more pics of property newly
acquired, but I always get the message that the new files will overwrite the
files currently on the CD. Can anyone help?
