I have a new laptop (DELL) that came with XP installed. As I start getting
things set up it is trying to install some automatic updates for .NET, etc.
As it tries to do the install it fails with the message:

"Application has generated an exception that could not be handled" and then
gives a Process id of 0xa90 and Thread id of 0xa44. At the end of the
application it indicates that the update installs were not successful.

I didn't find anything like this while searching the forum history. Does
anyone know what's happening and how to fix it?

Thanks

Tom
