app name explorer.exe error signature

I am having a problem with a reoccuring popup that "explorer has incountered a problem and needs to shutdown
The error signature is App Name Explorer, App Ver 6.02600.0, Mod Name crtdll.dll, Mod Ver 4.0.1183.1, Offset 000115ce
Also Internet Explorer home page keeps defaulting to C:///searchpage.html
 
Sounds like your browser not only got hijacked but one of
your IE files has been corrupted. I would suggest
reinstalling IE Explorer, and downloading Spybot S&D.
