aol installed a toolbar and runs a process aolsoftware.exe that I have
to kill manually.
An alternative is trillian that SEEMS to behavior better. Might want
to check it out
if considering such service. aol also killed my Oracle Express links.

I am unsure what this post is asking for help on.. or why it is in
windowsxp.general..

Yes - AOL is the devil to some people - no matter if it is the Internet
Service or their Instant Messenger.
Alternatives to anything AOL have always existed - some better than others.

Trillian is a great multi-IM application.
Miranda is another option.

There are probably others out there - but those two I have used and like -
if you have to have more than one messenger or dislike the native messenger
application that much.

Thanks for sharing your dislike for AOL. You are not alone - but I am
unsure if your rant will get very noticed here.

I thought rants had to be of a certain length and contain invective and
language extremes of this or that sort. Anyways, this was simply an
FYI. You can be
sure now. Can't get too mad a free stuff can you? :-)
