I've installed AOL broadband onto a laptop running on XP.
I've set up an IMAP mail account on OE6, double ckecked
the server details etc and though I can recieve e-mail I
cannot get it to send. Seems to be lots of info on KBase
re. send failures, does anyone know how to fix the
problem??

Double check your SMTP settings. Make sure you're using port 587 on
smtp.aol.com and are authenticating.

Also, you posted to an Outlook newsgroup rather than Outlook Express.
I'm crossposting and setting followups.

the error reads: your server has unexpectedly terminated
the connection. possible causes
for this include server problems, network problems, or a
long period of inactivity. Account imap.uk.aol.com.
server smtp.uk.aol.com protocolSMTP, port 25, secure (SSL)
N0, error number 0x000CC0F

Your error message mentions port 25. The instructions I referred you to
show port 587. Look at AOL link I supplied and make sure the port and
authentication settings match what AOL requires. You wont be able to send
messages until you do.
