A friend of mine uses AOL. He wants to install SP 2 but is afraid
that if he does he may have problems with his computer. Does anyone
know if there are any issues or problems with AOL and SP 2 getting
along?

Thanks,
Jerry

SP2 is a major Critical Update to Windows XP. If you
properly prepare for installing SP2, the installation should
be uneventful.

Hi Jerry,

It just so happens that my Dad is installing SP2 right now.

The update installation takes a long time to complete. Because it was made
available to him via windows update, my dad unwittingly agreed to install
the program. Of course then my mum wanted to use the computer so he quit the
installation half way through. This has left the computer in a seemingly
unstable state (he called me earlier today because the computer is running
very slow).

I asked him to download and install the service pack again so I'll post back
the results as to whether or not AOL likes it..

Apparently, AOL provide an update when you first log on so their software
works properly with SP2. HTH
