Problems with AOL software can be resolved by
calling AOL support. Did you uninstall version 8
before installing version 9?

Diane,

I would NOT uninstall AOL 8.0. I would advise calling
AOL help as many times as it takes to get a good answer
from them though. I've found that sometimes you have to
call several times to get to someone who knows how to help
you.

I upgraded to 9.0 from 8.0 and have a dial up modem, when I first come
online the modem dials the same number twice before I can get in, does
anyone know what is wrong? One other problem that I have, is, there is
no way to send e-mails using bcc.

Unfortunately, when you update AOL it doesn't remove old files and you wind
up with tons of junk in your C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\AOL directories. All this stuff starts to interfere with it's own
operation. You can't even get rid of this junk by uninstalling each of your
versions of AOL. I would download a fresh version of AOL to install after
you uninstall and clean up your computer. Uninstall EVERYTHING else AOL
related, but save a copy of your Organization directory as it has all your
mail history. Then manually remove anything left from the above mentioned
folders. I even remove AOL from my registry. After rebooting, reinstall the
ONE version of AOL.
