Depends on what you want to do, and from which OS. QEMU is another one, as
I understand it it's somewhat based on Bochs, but I'm not realy sure. Tell
us where you are finding shortcomings, and maybe there's a solution in
Bochs or DOSbox you're not aware of.
i need it for os development testing. vmware is good for this but i
can't use my licensed work copy at home; bochs is too confusing (unelss
there is a forum for help or a frontend somewhere i can't find); and
DOSbox is mainly for msdos/pcdos isn't it?
Yes - also to provide a VM for MSDOS programs which otherwise won't run
under WinXP etc. It will also get round firmware problems such as the IBM
ThinkPad laptops which won't run DOS programs.
